About Me

If anyone has lived a crazy life, it’s JC. Often told that he should have his own reality TV show or be on the “Real World”, JC was born in Mexico City and brought to the United States as an 8 year old boy who only knew how to say, “Where is bathroom?” and “It’s my popcorn,” JC has since learned how to speak English, although at times he butchers the English language. JC grew up in San Diego, where he began his radio career as a part time fill in DJ. In his off time JC loves to go dancing “yes real men do dance”, play his playstation 3, and play with his dogs Dex and Delilah. JC has been dedicating everything he accomplishes in life to his uncle Ricky, who also was his best friend, and the older brother he never had.

I listen to the morning show while I am at work, I currently work at a dry cleaners with not much business. Anyway, this morning you guys were talking about who the most unsexy person on the show is and I think that is Al. And it is true that people’s voices do not always follow with their looks. I think that you and Kidd, are both attractive. You are the sexiest on the show, but both you and Kidd are way better looking than Al.
Love the show, and you are awesome!!!

  24. JC you should have picked Oscar de la Hoya (shout out) in drag as your Halloween costume. Boxing shorts & robe but then with fishnet stockings and some lacy top – HILARIOUS! Oh well – maybe next year.

  25. JC! You make my day every week day! Thank you for that. I too am a fellow transplant from San Diego. Your blogs are great. Thanks for the fire blog. I thought I was the only one obsessed with the fire coverage!!! I hope family and friends are all safe. Keep up the good work!! GO CHARGERS!!!!

  40. J-Si,
I just want to say what a great feeling of respect I have for you. You are an inspiration to us all. I have always given to those with less and have tought my children the same. This year I haven’t been able to give as much as I would like, but I have decided to start saving each week, so that I don’t feel like I did this year. This money will be taken to an orphanage around my area, instead of giving to organizations that pays most of the money out in salaries. I feel touched & inspired by you!

  41. J-Si

You are an inspiration to all young latinos that dreams do come true with hard work. It is nice that you can give back to the less fortunate. You have a big heart and a kind soul. Someday I would like to talk with you and express my past (Father) experience. We have a lot in common and the funny part in regards to my bio-father is that he lives in the same City and State as I. I too was lucky with my step-father who raised me and if I had my life was a do over I would not changed my step-father. I strongly believe (WE) are who we are today because of our past. You are a good person. Keep up the good word and God Bless You.

  42. JC,

I was really moved by your segment on your trip to an orphanage in Mexico. I think that all of the kids there will truly be happy to receive anything for Christmas this year, as many of them might have nothing. Your story resonates with mine. My family immigrated to this country from El Salvador when I was two, and I was able to take advantage of the opportunities that were available to me. That is why I currently work for a non-profit youth organization in Dallas. I work with low income at-risk kids, I facilitate after school programs in apartment complexes. I understand, and see the struggle of kids and their families to make ends meat. That is why I work diligently to show them that they can achieve anything in life, with hard work and dedication they can do anything.

I think you took the time to reflect on your past experiences, which made you realize how important Christmas can be for a child that expects nothing. Since my family left El Salvador, I don’t think I have ever looked back. I’m 28 now, but I think next year I will take a trip to my home town, and spread a little Christmas joy to some kids. You have been an inspiration; I think you have truly captured the Christmas spirit. Thanks.

    Shout-out!

    Sal

  43. JC, just a quick note you make me laugh every day but as far as the best of the best i want.. no need to hear the story of you taking CREE-CREE out of yours and kinsey’s apartment it was so funny yet tragic! And then when you sang the :Delilah song about your dog and Cree-Cree it was simply the best!Keep up the good work!

  44. JC. Your the man. I live in a small town in Del Rio, which is on the boder of Cd. Acuna Coah. Mexico. JC when I herard what you were doing I went back to a time I did the same thing. I have a beauty shop and I took my staff and we went to the Light House which is for the children. They ask if we could cut thier hair. Of course I jumped on this. JC when I went in the Home I almost fell to my knees. I say the conditions, some kids sleeping on card board boxes on the floor. some children didnt have on shirts and in early November it can be cold there, thank God that day it want. One of the stylist looked at me and thats when it all started. The children had head lice. Which in the states our laws will not allow you to cut thier hair. The lady who was thier noticed what we saw and stated if you dont want to cut thier hair I understand. JC the only way we could cut thier hair was to shave all of the childrens hair off all of them boys, and the girls. Now imgine what that did to the little girls. they stared to cry, I started to cry and before we go any further I am a male hair dresser. What I saw in thier eyes, the feeling of being bald that to them was horrifying. My staff looked at me and I started cutting hair. My partner ran back to the salon and got 7 clipper sets and came back with them we cut every ones hair off. So to make them feel better we let them the children cut our hair off. Now imgaine what that was like for us. I cut all my hair off for the children. I then went to the store in Del Rio and bought caps for all the boys, and girls, dude that was the hardest part then we bought markers so they all could write thier names on them. Yes we all had our own cap. We had no hair to hide in it but, It was worth being bald. I never let my hair grow that long ever again after that. JC. I know the words and all the comments your hearing right now mean alot. But JC what you did will always be in their hearts. You may forget thies in a few years, but I can tell you those kids will never forget. You made a comment thier is no Boarders when it comes to the children. I have sold the salon and I know the staff is still takeing care of the kids that was part of the deal in the sale of the salon. But I still see some of those kids even today and we laugh at how funny we all looked. JC I commend you on what you have done. I would also like to help you do this next year I am a cosmetology teacher in Austin Texas. We can help raide money for this so you can continue doing what you did. Many years of Success to JC. Dino thank you for being a part of this. It made JC’s Life alot easier having you thier I am sure.

  50. I just wanted to let you know your trip home has touched my heart. You are an amzing man to want to go back and give something to the people in the place where you came from. I am an adopted child so I always wondered what if my family would have not picked me. I could have spent my life in a home or in foster care. WHat you did added so much depth to the person you are. I am sure you know that not only did you touch the lives of each of thse kids but they also touched you too. It is just an amzing gift to make a child happy. 54. jc… love you as an addition to the show. how come you didn’t mention kensey in your bio? she’s been a part of your life for 5 years!?! a girl can’t wait forever…just a bit of advice…

  55. Hi JC, About your sister, I think you should take her to the Jonas brothers concert! I’ve been a 13 year old girl and I’ve raised a daughter who is now 16. Never underestimate the power of MERCY. I think she would so appreciate a little break a little mercy right now. I think some time with you is what she needs. Yeah I am a 45 year old mom who flips when I hear my children say this or that is gay. I understand where your parents are coming from. But I think a day or two with you and and little undeserved mercy would do her a world of good. And I’d skip the guilt trip. It would also go along ways toward your parents I think she would be so grateful that they let her go that she might say, You know they are not so bad, they are not against me they just want what is best for me. Even at 45 a little time with my big brother does a whole world of good. Don’t underestimate the power of mercy. I am a Christian and the mercy God shows us inspires alot of love ,respect, appreciation. Think about it. I hope she gets to go.

YOUR NEW CAR WAS A BLESSING TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU’RE NOT ALONE. PEOPLE CARE FOR YOU AND YOU KNOW WHO. SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH THICK AND THIN WITH YOU. 75. Hey JC, I am an international student from Mexico (Sonora) I go to UTD (Software Engineer) and I will graduate this Dec 2008. I have to had that I am also gay and if I have to describe what I look for in a guy it has to be you. I say this will with great respect to you. Your laughter and your personality are the best. I like your sensitivity and the simple person you are. My best graduation gift would be to go out with you to lunch or a movie, just hung out nothing more. That would be the best for me… ok a picture with you will be nice as well. Kinsey is soooo lucky and so beautifull…

  76. JC –

Heard & felt your frustration regarding your sister & her myspace account. I am the mom of a 13 year old. For months I had told her I didn’t want her to have a myspace account for various & obvious reasons …. one day she comes home to say her friend had made her a myspace account (have to give her credit for being honest), told her if I could see it as I had only heard about it, but had never gone into an account to see how everything works.

Long story short, my husband & I made a deal that she could keep the account but had to give me the passwords and that it would be a “Mom & Me” myspace. Now when I say mom & me I don’t go in and leave comments or mail, I simply check to see what the contents of her account are. You mentioned being frustrated about not being able to see her friends or the ability to read her comments. Trust me, give your sister some credit, at this age it’s best that not everyone can read and have so much access to your account. We too have my daughter’s where no one sees her top friends or her comments. The hardest part for me is that occasionally people leave comments or comment her pictures that I’m not too crazy about …. but that’s the price I too pay for knowing the password. But on the flip side, we talk about the comments and why they aren’t appropriate etc. My daughter is not a very “open” person, and if it wasn’t for myspace, I may not know alot of the things going on with her, both good and bad.

Perhaps this is something your mom & sister could work out … my other advise to your mom would be to get to know her boyfriends parents …. my daughter too has a boyfriend and if they want to do anything, guess what, they do it with us or his family. His mom and I are in constant communication so we know exactly what is going on with the relationship. Plus, my husband has “had a talk with him”. We have had no serious problems. We’ve gone out to eat, or miniature golfing and we all have a great time …. as just like you mentioned, the more you tell them no, they are going to find a way to do it. So instead of saying NO, find a solution one that everyone can agree to. Oh, I know she may not like the fact that we are with her, but it could be worse … she just not go out. So she knows she has to meet us half way.

Trust me … I’m not a crazy mom by all means, she’s my oldest so I’m learning as I go …. and it’s not easy. But you have to remember that they are growing up in a crazy world, much more different than I did when I was growing up.

Hope things go well with you & your sister … remember, be the one she can talk too, it’s hard enough for her to talk to your mom. Trust me, one of the hardest things in life is a mom & daugter relationship, especially during their middle school years. I remember my own relationship with my mom. But it’s only temporary, because now we are the best of friends.

    Good luck.

    Lisa

  77. Hello JC! You are so great on the show! You make it a million times better!love you tons

  78. J-Si you are amazing!!! I totally love the show alot more than before. I think you are filling in Rich’s spot VERY well. Keep making me laugh. I’m so glad y’all broadcast in Austin cause college life would not be the same without KKITM. Keep it up and I hope you get the show on Oprah and find a new pillow!!!

  79. JC – I don’t usually send e-mails to people that I don’t know personally, but I felt it necessary this time. I heard the bit that Rich did this morning, and I could tell by your voice that you were truely upset by it.

I a one of those listeners that was thrilled to hear that Rich was leaving the show. I was never comfortable listening to the way he treated people to get a laugh. I had to change the station when he came on….I just couldn’t listen to it.

So, of course when you started, I was skeptical, thinking that Rich would be replaced by someone with a similar approach, but I want you to know that I have been pleasantly surprised by what you bring to the show. You are talented and funny, and have had the heart to share your good fortune when given the chance, whether it be your sister, Kinsey, or orphans in Mexico. I am not just talking about financially, but true heartfelt gifts. As a parent, I would be proud to have my child grow up to be as genuine as you are.

    Keep up the hard work!

  80. Hey J-Si just wanted to take the time to tell you I love you on the show! I like your innocent funny personality. And I especially like that you added a little variety to the show! Keep up the good work. And thank you for being the role model you are to all the people who come to this country to succeed, you are living proof that it can be done! Si se puede! LOL!

  81. Hey JC!
I loved the show before you came on, and love it even more now that you’re on it! Love the shout-outs, love the dog blogs, love the Kinsey! Makes me realize that my dog is not a wierdo for eating my undies too! Thought she was mental, or something. Thanks for coming to the show and doing what you do! Represent!
Hasta manana! (gosh i hate that they don’t have “dieresis” on this keyboards)

  82. Just thought this would be cool to send you, being Mexican and all, it’s really a HUGE wake up call, from a person who’s literally seen it all!

    -Much love, Vero 🙂

    Lee Iacocca speaks at 82

This is long, but check it out

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes?
He’s now 82 years old and has a new book, and here are some excerpts…

    Lee Iacocca Says:

‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening?
Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder.

We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car.
But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course’

Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned ‘Titanic’. I’ll give you a sound bite: Throw all the bums out!’

You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in
Handcuffs. While we’re fiddling in Iraq, the Middle East
    is burning and nobody
seems to know what to do. And the press is waving
    ‘pom-poms’ instead of
asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the’
America ‘ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for.

I’ve had enough. How about you? I’ll go a step further.
    You can’t call
yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing
to have. The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine Cs of
    leadership, crisis being the first.)
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times
    of crisis.

It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and
    talk theory.
Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never
    seen a battlefield yourself.
It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.

On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than
any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us
out of the ashes. A Hell of a Mess So here’s where we stand.

We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and
    no plan for leaving.

We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the
    country. We’re losing the manufacturing
edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting
    slaughtered by health care costs.

Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a
    coherent energy policy.

Our schools are in trouble. Our borders
are like sieves. The middle class is being squeezed
    every which way!

These are times that cry out for leadership.

But when you look around, you’ve got to ask:’ Where have all

the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators?
    Where are the people of?
character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common
    sense?

I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the
    point.

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland
    security than making us
take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?
We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy,
and all we know how to do is react to things that have already
    happened.

Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane
    Katrina.

Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the
response to the hurricane, or demanding accountability for the
decisions that were made in the
    crucial hours after the storm.

Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it
doesn’t happen again. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen.
Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the
    next time.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about
how we can restore our competitive edge
in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there?
could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’
referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more
important, what are we going to do about it?

Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for
    paying down the
debt, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care
problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that
are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t elect you
to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our
democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced
with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some
bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why
don’t you guys show some spine for a change?

Had Enough? Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom
and doom here. I’m trying to
light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope!
    I believe in America.

In my lifetime I’ve had the privilege of living through
    some of America’s greatest moments.
I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: the ‘Great
Depression’, ‘World War II’, the ‘Korean War’, the ‘Kennedy
Assassination’, the ‘Vietnam War’, the 1970’s oil crisis, and the
struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11.

If I’ve learned one thing, it’s
this: ‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting
for somebody else to take action.
Whether it’s building a better car or building a better future for
our children, we all have a role to play.

    ‘That’s the challenge I’m
rising in this book. It’s a call to ‘Action’
for people who, like me, believe in America It’s not
too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the
crap and go to work. Let’s tell ’em all we’ve had ‘enough.’

Make your own contribution by sending this to everyone you know
    and care
about. It’s our country, folks; and it’s our future. Our
    future is at stake!
