Myspace sucks!!!!
May 29, 2008 at 4:59 pm | In Uncategorized | 19 CommentsTags: fight, fun, myspace, sister
Umm… the craziness continues. So yesterday I logged onto myspace after a hiatus of about 4 or 5 days. By the way, “hiatus” has got to be one of the coolest words out there because it makes you sound smart and it is easy to remember. As approved all my new wonderful friends I came across a picture of a girl that looks a lot like my sister. I decided to stop the scrolling and look at the picture and found that this girl not only looked like my sister… she had the same name as my sister. CRAZY HUH? (Picture some sarcasm in my voice in the next few lines) I know my sister would not have a profile because my mom has said no and she is only 13 years old. I still wanted to make sure so I clicked on the profile just to double check… low and behold this girl was from San Diego too… just like my sister. Fortunately I finally had found something that would distinguish the two. This girl was 14 years old. Phew!!! I was relieved. NOT!!! It was my little sister in the typical myspace pictures that all girls take with friends and post on myspace to get attention from boys. Did I feel uneasy about it? Oh yeah! But you know what? I was her age once and I know what it feels like to be told “no” by your parents. I too would go and do things behind their back… it is part of being a teen… well, in my instance I wanted to be an international spy so I needed to learn how to get away with things, and I had to learn how to do a flip and drive fast but I never quite got to that point… yet. Plus there is no way you can go through life without seeing at least one vein protrude out of your parents forehead and or neck, I preferred the forehead.
I then started to do what any older brother would do if their 13 year old sister got a myspace: I started looking around. There were a few things I found to be a bit out of the ordinary: 1. no way to see her comments 2. She apparently has a boyfriend 3. No top friends list and 4. I don’t like her boyfriend. I did manage to find some comments on her pictures though and this is when J-Zizzle’s head hit the ceiling. This lil punk who is dating my sis is 15 years old and in high school. When I was in high school I looked at middle school girls as little kids, why? Because I was too cool for school that’s why. Haha. This kid has also left some pretty disgusting comments on my sisters page. I naturally wanted to write him a little message but if I did my sisters life would in her words be “ruined forever”. I wish I could tell you what he wrote but it makes me want to punch the computer screen… and I am at work so I would have to pay Kidd for the computer and the Rock Band game I am borrowing for life. Then there were some other boy comments such as, “you are so hott” (you gotta write it with two t’s because that’s how you get into a committed relationship with a woman) and old school favorites like, “I can almost see down your shirt,” and don’t forget the all-time favorite, “I don’t know u, but damn girl you is hot” (he didn’t use two t’s because he doesn’t want a commitment). I have never felt the symptoms of a heart attack, but after reading those comments I wanted to whoop some high school butt.
So I did call my sister yesterday and told her it’s all good. Maybe I am being a bit overprotective but to her everything seemed like it was just for fun and jokes. To me it was the realization that my sister is growing up and will eventually kiss a boy… when she is around 25 years old… and she will eventually fall in love and get married… when she is 46 years old… and eventually have babies… long after I am dead.
Moral of the story: when you lock your sister in the closet when she is 4 for some laughs… never open it up… ever. But do give her food and water, that would be good, and maybe a book or something… and a TV, but no myspace.
WORD!!!!!

There is a way that you can see her top friends. When you are on her page look at the top url and where it says viewprofile just change profile to comments to view comments and friends to view friends…..myspace is tricky like that! Good luck and don’t kill her boyfriend because her life would be ruined “forever”!

Just because her comments are hidden there are still ways of reading them. Go to one of your friends profile and click on view all comments. In the search box at the top you will see a 7 digit friend ID. Open up another window and find your sisters friend ID. Then go back to the other window where you are viewing all comments. Erase the 1st friends ID and put your sisters ID there and bam…you can read her messages. Hope that works for you.

Sometimes life has a nasty way of reminding us that we all get older.
I don’t have a little sister but I have a son and I’ve seen some of the things he’s said on MySpace. I sit and think “Is that MY kid? No, couldn’t be. He wouldn’t…um….well…..when I was his age I…yeah.”

I was the big sister who actually wrote to the guys on my sister’s myspace. I always warned them first but they always get the “treat her right, or I will be sitting on your front porch cleaning a gun” or something to that extent. She usually just laughed at me, and they were all appropriately scared of me.

Jc I’d love to help you out! But i think that sneaking around behind your sister’s back wouldn’t be the best thing in the world. Becuase even if you succeded, her trust for you here after will be shakey.
But if you still wanted to teach this guy respect I could help you out with that. >:D
Teenage booys need to learn respect for young women. And teenage girls need to learn that they deserve that respect.
She’s lucky to have such a caring brother, though

Dude, here is a tip to be able to see your sister’s comments and friends…get on Mozilla and log onto Myspace through there..then go to her page and when you are there, click on View at the top you know on the toolbar, then select Page Style, and select No Style. That is just going to give you the plain stuff pretty much and you should be able to see comments and FREINDS. Let me know if it worked out..wish I had a big bro like you that cares for me like that..but no I’m stuck being the big Sis..haha well love the show and take care

If you want to see her page just login to myspace using the Mozilla web browser and once you are on her page go the view tab at the top, select page style and then select no style and that will show you her whole page without all the extras that she has added on there.

I went through this with my stepdaughter, she will be 14 this weekend, she has had one for two years, my husband and I would turn her in, they delete it and she has to start all over again, no, it didn’t keep her from having it, but she would complain about starting all over again.
Just a thought.

my baby sister has a zillion blogs. she’s graduating from high school this weekend, and it scares the hell out of me. while i am her not that much older (23) sister, i’ve found a very effective technique to ward off any of those creepy boys. it’s called ICE PICKS, KNEE CAPS. i just threaten to stab ice picks in their knee caps if they say anything i don’t like, so they tend to leave her alone, because high school boys are really just scared of all girls, especially the ice pick-wielding ones.

hey J.C
Well I know where you are coming from because I have a lot of brothers and one sister, basically I have a big family. I am going to tell you that I was that little girl. Where I wanted my friends not my family because I knew that my family will always be there for me but I wanted somebody and something else.
So, in my way to life I stumbled alot and bumped into different crowds that I knew in my mind that it was not good to hang out with them but I still was around them knewing that it was not good. later on my brothers were always on my back telling me stuff that my mom and dad were always worried about me and that I needed to stop. Well, time went by and I by myself realized that the crowd who I was hanging out with was not taking me no where in life. So, I stopped hanging out with them and i stayed with my parents more.
The secret that kept me away from the loosers was working out so I worked out everyday.
Now, I am married to the greatest guy and I have two great kids, and they are girls so you know the saying that I am going to
get my pay backs with my two girls but I tell my family that i am prepared…
the moral of the story is that if you are always going to complain to her about things, you are going to push her away. I mean dont get me wrong this new generation is terrible. I mean we even have this
issue with the kids in mexico. by the way I am mexican. Well J.C I wish you nd your family the best and hopefuly this phase is over. I will keep you and your family in my prayers..

you can also use firefox to see the stuff she is hiding. Just log in on the firefox browser and then at the top of the page click view and then page style and then click no style and there you have it……everything she is hiding.

Dude, JC
here is an easy way to see your sisters friends and stuff.. download firefox, go to her myspace page go up to the top of the toolbar, click on View, the go to Page Style, then No Page Style, you can see everything! it just takes all the codes away from her website. then to change back to normal just go to the same place just click on normal page style or whatever is there.

These will ONLY work IF their page is NOT private. Even if you are NOT on their friends list, if their page is “public” then use them and it’ll show you.

Hey J.C,
I know exactly what you are going through. When I was 12 I started to date a 15 year old, I had four brother’s that were not happy at all. I can not tell you how many times the beat him up and threatned him with different things. With all of them telling me no it made me want to do it even more. Since I started seeing him they were mad at me, so they were not there for me when I needed them…anyways six years down the road I am now married to him and they live with it. All I am saying is be careful and let your sister know that she can talk to you about this guy with out you getting upset, because this is the main part of her life when she is going to need somebody to talk to. (BUT I SEE YOUR POINT).

You’re quite right. For social networking facebook is definitely better. As far as music and art go I prefer to use http://www.putiton.com
